Oliver + S Library Dress in Wildwood

I wanted to make something with this fabric line as soon as I saw it—Wildwood by Elizabeth Olwen for Cloud9 Fabrics (which happens to be 100% organic).

I thought the oliver + s Library Dress would show off a few of the prints well. And it does!

I was going to save it for Kids Clothes Week, but I decided I wanted her to have something special to wear for picture day (in her Kindergarten picture she wore this) so I stayed up late Thursday night finishing it in time.

It's a lovely pattern (I love how oliver + s patterns have plenty of notches, which always line up, and very clear instructions). I will probably make view B soon–probably in something apparel weight, maybe a voile.

I sewed a size 6 with no alterations, with the exception of adding side-seam pockets. Must have pockets. She requested a "twirly" skirt on it too, but I'll have to deliver that another time.

The specific prints are Midnight Flora in Navy for the main fabric, Forest Floor in Khaki for the sash, and Deco Petal in Turquoise for the bias piping and pockets. All from Hawthorne Threads.

...And here are a bunch more pictures for you from our oh-so-easy photoshoot ;) and the dress in action around Crozet. :)

Thanks for reading!
